Is the weather outside frightful? Don’t worry! We’ve got you covered (no pun intended!) with these 5 ideas for indoor activities in Plano with kids:
Location 1: Crayola Experience
Cost: There are many different options on admission. Attached is a link to the page so you can see the one that is best for your visit. https://tickets.crayolaexperience.com/
Hours: Sunday-Friday 10am-6pm and Saturdays 10am-8pm
Why kids like it: There are so many things to love about this place. Getting to see art come to life, all the activities, getting to learn how crayons are made, and even getting to "name" their own crayon color.
Why parents like it: There are so many different hands-on activities for kids to do. Paint, color, play with technology, etc. And what kid (and adult) doesn't love Crayola!?! I personally love sitting around the table coloring with my kids! I will never outgrow that, and to have such a great place so close....it's a must see!
Location 2: Safari Run
Cost: $13/per child with adult supervision
Hours: See attached for Open Play hours. http://www.safarirun.com/calendar/parties
Why kids like it: Because even the little kids can feel like big kids with freedom to run all around in such a fun and safe (padded) environment! There are tunnels, slides, maze, toddler area, etc. So much for the kids to explore and have fun with.
Why parents like it: This place is great to have the kids get out some energy in a safe and clean environment.
Location 3: Play Street Museum
Cost: $12.00 for each child ages 1-8 (older or younger children are free if accompanied by a paying sibling). There are also discount passes such as 5 visits for $50 valid for a year from date of purchase. https://www.playstreetmuseum.com/play
Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00am-6:00pm
Why kids like it: What kid does not like to "play"? And that is what this place is all about...Playing! Kids getting to be kids. The vision of Play Street Museum is to Inspire the world through play. They give kids an educational experience while they are having fun.
Why parents like it: Play Street Museum was named one of USA Today's top 10 Awesome Museums for Families to Explore in the Dallas Area. It is a great place to have some quality time with your kids, make memories, let them explore, and watch them use their creativity and imagination through play. There are other locations in the area, but the Plano location is: The Great Outdoors.
Location 4: Jump Street Indoor Trampoline Park
Cost: Pricing depends on age and length of time jumping. See below site for pricing and hours.
Hours: https://www.gotjump.com/texas/plano/
Why kids like it: Kids like to bounce, jump, run, and feel like they are flying in the air (all while not having their parents telling them to stop jumping around). This is the perfect place for them to get out all their extra energy.
Why parents like it: Because instead of having the kids bouncing off the walls bored at home, you can bring them here and let them jump like crazy! Parents can even join them! (or relax and have a cup of coffee).
Location 5: Main Event Plano (this is a great place if you have a wide age range of kids)
Cost: Depends on Activities done while there.
Hours: For hours and information here is a link to the Main Event Site. https://www.mainevent.com/
Why kids like it: Because of the lights, the sounds, the excitement that is in every direction that they look. They can enjoy a game of bowling, laser tag, rock climbing, virtual reality, arcade games where they can win prizes, and even get some food. There are so many things to do under one roof.
Why parents like it: This is a great location no matter the age of your kid. Perfect for younger, and older kids. There really is something for everyone to enjoy. It is my families go to place for the cold and rainy days. It is especially fun for the parents that like to challenge their kids to a family fun game of bowling or one of the many arcade games!
